Crix ‘Essex Dog Day’
We had a howling day of cowhide fun at Crix’ ‘Essex Dog Day’ at the end of August; with canine friends and their companions shopping at our Zulucow stand. There were gun dogs; sausage dogs, dolled up poodles and even a pug in a dress – I am not joking! (Nor was the owner when I laughed at her mutt’s attire – eek!)
The word or ‘bark’ had got out and the woofers came from near and far to peruse Zulucow’s unique, sustainably sourced, handmade, cowhide collection!
The lazy but gorgeous labradors bayed for cowhide dog beds….but nope, sorry Tilly and Poppy; the line must be drawn somewhere… They did approve of our fabulous new cowhide bean bags and cowhide squashy pouffes/cubes (pix coming soon)…. So all is well in the kennel tonight.
Alison and Ian Twinley, owners of Crix and their 100 volunteers, raised more than £10 000 on the day, and £280 000 over the last 6 years for local Essex charities. Zulucow was proud to support their impressive fundraising efforts; all for a good cause.
I particularly enjoyed the police dog display; the gun dogs in action; but my favourite were the working sheepdogs: cooly controlling flocks of sheep and geese…evoking memories from my childhood tv viewing of ‘One Man and His Dog.’
Woof Woof! Roll on next year!
